UP Secondary Education Board announced the board examination dates. As per the announcement the examination for High School and Intermediate are scheduled to commence from 3rd March 2014. Exams for intermediate will go on till 4th April while high school examinations will end on 21st March 2014. Practical exams will take place between 10h January to 10 February 2014.
Minor changes have been introduced in the marking scheme of practical exams. Untill last year, practical exam worth 30 marks was totally external and students had to face an examiner from outside their institution who assessed them against a practical subject.
But, from 2014 the exam would be divided into two parts, external and internal, each comprising 15 marks. Students would be evaluated internally by their own teachers.
According to the official reports around 31.27 lakh students have enrolled for Intermediate where as for High school 71.20 lakh students have filled in the forms. As compared to 2013, number of students has increased by 9.5%.
Amid 10,500 centers across the country, the exams will take place in two shifts. The first shift will begin at7.30 am and end at 10.45 pm while the second shift will begin at 2.00 pm and end at 5.15 pm. Board has deployed anti-copying squad who will ensure fair examinations in the centers.
