AIMA MAT February 2014: Exam results expected on Feb 25

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) February 2014, conducted by All India Management Association is set to begin from February 2 for the paper based exam, and February 8 for the computer based exam. The results for MAT are expected to be released on February 25, 2014, at the official AIMA MAT website.

MAT is used throughout the nation for admission to MBA and management courses in over 600+ institutes, including a few international institutes. MAT is conducted by AIMA four times a year: February, May, September and December and is available in paper based test and computer based test format. MAT is held in 50 test centers in India and 1 center each in Dubai and Singapore.

The MAT exam is an objective type exam with a total of 200 multiple choice questions divided across 5 categories: Language Comprehension (40 questions), Mathematical Skills (40 questions), Data Analysis and Sufficiency (40 questions), Intelligence and Critical Reasoning (40 questions) and Indian and Global Environment (40 questions).

Eligibility to attempt the MAT examination is Bachelors Degree in any field/subject (final year students are also eligible). Although there is no minimum percentage requirement for MAT, different Management Institutes/Business Schools may have percentage requirements respectively.

AIMA MAT February 2014: Last minute tips and tricks

With the MAT exams only a few days away, its time for quick revision. MAT scores will help you in admission to Management programmes and MBA courses in over 600 institutes within India and a few international institutes as well. Here are some tips to help you score. 

Paper Pattern The test is divided into 5 sections of objective multiple choice questions. Each section will contain 40 questions. 
1. Language Comprehension: Time Suggested 30 mins
2. Mathematical Skills: Time Suggested 40 mins 
3. Data Analysis and Sufficiency: Time Suggested 35 mins 
4. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: Time Suggested 30 mins
5. Indian and Global Environment: Time Suggested 15 mins
Total: 150 mins

Tips1. Practice sample papers/previous year papers as many as possible and remember to check the answers so you are able to find your weak areas. 
2. Revise topics you make errors in.
3. Read general knowledge capsules from almanacs
4. Read and reread mathematics formulae
5. Keep at least an hour per day to practice calculations and approximations
6. Watch the news, this will help you with language skills and with general knowledge
7. Practice sample papers within the time frame you will have at the exam. This will help you get used to answering question papers at that time of day
8. If you get stressed, take deep breathes and then continue your studies
